The Print
I was on assignment in Southern California when I stopped by a friend's house where they host a community darkroom. Several of our friends were developing black and white film and I began to photo document their process. Part of my assignment was to test out a new camera and put it through multiple shooting scenarios. I shot the entire process and packed up to leave. As I was packing the truck, I looked back and saw Anchor, this kind soul of a dog standing right next to his most recent chew toys and some classic checkered vans. A little voice in my head said, “THIS is your shot, you better take it”. I quickly grabbed my camera and snapped a few frames of Anchor and it turned out to be my favorite shot from my trip to California that year. Something about it sums up a childhood perspective of what West Coast living is like in my midwestern mind.
