The Print
I love to arrive at a location early, and in this case; it was over an hour before sunrise. As an artist I seek conditions that will create unique and beautiful imagery. I was immediately drawn to the contrasting colors and strong cloud formations. I wanted to paint the clouds across the sky just before blue hour. It was still dark when I set up my camera. I recorded the four-minute exposure, softly blurring the clouds over time. The lifeguard tower became illuminated with the warm glow of lights along Ocean Drive during the long exposure.
